Jackson Climbs to No. 4 All-Time at NDSU in Heptathlon at UC Riverside

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – North Dakota State junior Rose Jackson recorded the top heptathlon score of her career to highlight the efforts of the Bison women's track & field team on Friday at the UC Riverside Spring Track Classic.
Jackson (Willmar, Minn.) totaled 5,240 points in the heptathlon for second place overall, topping her previous best score by 215 points. She now ranks fourth in NDSU history in the heptathlon behind only Whitney Carlson, Heather Zander and Andi Noel.
Bison sophomore Amanda Levin recorded a personal-best heptathlon score of 4,711 points, ranking her 10th all-time at NDSU. Senior Ann Govig scored 4,614 for a new personal-best score of her own. Levin and Govig finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the meet.
Jackson posted a new first-day high of 3,130 points through four events on Thursday. She opened Friday with a mark of 18-11.75 (5.78m) in the long jump before throwing a personal-best 102-7 (31.28m) in the javelin. Jackson clocked 2:19.78 in the 800m to cap the heptathlon – the fastest outdoor 800m time of her career.
Levin closed with an 800m PR of 2:20.83 to earn her personal-best score.
NDSU's Deidre Hahn finished eighth with 4,453 points, and Jaelin Beachy was 12th with 4,134.
The Bison will conclude competition at the UC Riverside Spring Track Classic on Saturday.
