Bison Women Wrap Up Competition at UC Riverside Spring Track Classic

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The North Dakota State women's track & field team posted a number of personal-best performances on Saturday to cap a weekend of competition at the UC Riverside Spring Track Classic.
Senior Brittany Stangl became the second woman in NDSU history to go over 13 feet in the outdoor pole vault, clearing 13-00.75 (3.98m) for a runner-up finish. Freshman Klara Lyon and sophomore Lauren Gietzen both cleared 12-00.75 (3.68m) in the pole vault to tie for fourth place.
Senior Erin Teschuk won the 800m title in 2:10.66 for her outdoor opener, and senior Melissa Kitching ran an 800m personal-best of 2:13.12 for fourth place.
The Bison had a trio of women post strong performances in the 400m dash. Junior Morgan Milbrath won the event, running 54.43. Sophomore Alexis Woods ran the second-fastest 400m time of her career at 55.33 for third place, and Amy Andrushko posted a personal-best 56.40 for sixth place.
Woods also clocked a career-best 24.98 seconds in the 200m dash to take ninth place.
Kitching, Milbrath, Andrushko and Woods teamed up to win the 4x400m relay in 3:39.58, making the quartet the 10th-fastest team all-time at NDSU.
Brittany Brownotter ran 9:55.74 in the 3,000m to rank fourth in NDSU outdoor history and finish as the runner-up in the meet. Freshman Emma Kusch Dahle took fourth in 10:17.89.
Allie Lahren opened her outdoor season with a mark of 18-05.25 (5.62m) in the long jump – her best outdoor long jump performance since 2014.
Junior Jenny Guibert took sixth in the 1500m with a new personal-best of 4:38.02. Sophomore Gabby Grommesh ran a personal-best time of 12.39 seconds in the 100m dash for 12th place.
Junior Lexy Boschee clocked 14.88 seconds in the 100m hurdles for 15th place, and freshman Dakota Wood finished in 14.98 seconds in her first 100m hurdles race in an NDSU uniform.
The Bison women will compete next at the Stanford Invitational and San Francisco State Distance Carnival on Apr. 1-2.
