The North Dakota State University women's track & field team will travel to the Bay Area in California this weekend to compete in a pair of meets on Friday, Apr. 1, and Saturday, Apr. 2.
The Bison will take part in both the Stanford Invitational in Stanford, Calif., and the San Francisco State Distance Carnival in San Francisco.
The Bison women own the top mark in The Summit League in all four throwing events so far this season. Katelyn Weimerskirch leads the league in the discus and hammer throw, Courtney Pasiowitz is first in the shot put, and Sierra Rosenau tops the conference in the javelin.
NDSU also boasts the league's top three performers in the 400m dash early in the outdoor season, with Morgan Milbrath, Alexis Woods and Amy Andrushko leading the way.
The Bison women enter this weekend with 11 marks that rank among the NCAA top 40 in their respective events. Junior Rose Jackson is ranked third in the country in the heptathlon after scoring 5,240 points at the UC Riverside Spring Track Classic on Mar. 24-26. Rosenau is No. 12 on the NCAA list in the javelin, and the Bison 4x400m relay team of Melissa Kitching, Milbrath, Andrushko and Woods stands at No. 15 on the national performance list.
