SCENE SETTER: The North Dakota State University baseball team is scheduled to travel to Brookings, S.D., to take on the South Dakota State University Jackrabbits April 28-30 in a three-game Summit League series at Erv Huether Field. The series opener is slated for 3 p.m. Friday, April 28, with games two and three scheduled for Saturday, April 29, and Sunday, April 30 at 1 p.m.
MEDIA COVERAGE: The three-game series against South Dakota State will air live on Bison 1660 AM, 92.7 FM, Bison1660.com and the Bison 1660 app beginning 30 minutes prior to first pitch of each game. Jeff Culhane will call the action with Keith Brake providing color commentary. Friday's game will also be televised live on MidcoSN with Tom Nieman providing play-by-play and Jody Norstedt serving as color commentator. SERIES RECORD: The three-game series at South Dakota State will mark meetings 176-178 in the all-time series that dates back to 1956. The Jackrabbits lead the series, 112-63-0. The Bison won two of three games against the Jacks earlier this season in Fargo April 7-9. NDSU has dropped seven consecutive games in Brookings. The last North Dakota State win at SDSU was during the 2013 season. The Bison did not play at South Dakota State in 2014.

ROHDE ROLLING: Freshman infielder Tucker Rohde is hitting .500 with eight hits, four runs, a double and two RBIs in his last five games. In the Bison's 10-2 win over Omaha April 22, the Scottsdale, Ariz., native went 3-for-5 at the plate with two runs and an RBI. Rohde is on a five-game hitting streak heading into the weekend.

ABERCROMBIE ACCELERATING IN THE BATTER'S BOX: In his last seven games, sophomore outfielder Alec Abercrombie is hitting .429 with nine hits, four runs scored, two doubles, five RBIs, three walks and four stolen bases. PITCHING CONSISTENCY: Bison RHP Reed Pfannenstein has compiled a 1.19 ERA and is 3-0 in his last four appearances and starts on the mound. In 30.1 innings, he has allowed only four earned runs on 20 hits with 16 strikeouts and eight walks.
HARMS SHUTTING DOWN OPPONENTS: In his last three starts, RHP Jordan Harms have allowed just five earned runs on 18 hits with 15 strikeouts in 23.1 innings. Entering Friday, he ranks fifth in The Summit League with a 3.43 ERA.
CLOSING THE DOOR: NDSU right-handed closer Kevin Folman leads the team and is tied for second in The Summit League with six saves in 16 relief appearances. The Hermantown, Minn., native has allowed only six earned runs on 15 hits with 15 strikeouts and six walks in 20.2 innings.

Defending Summit League regular season and tournament champion Oral Roberts was picked first and tallied 25 points with five first-place votes, while South Dakota State was second with 18 points and received the final first-place vote. NDSU was third, followed by Omaha (13 points), Western Illinois (nine points) and Fort Wayne (eight points).
THE COACH: Tod Brown (Arizona, 1994) enters his 10th season as the head coach for the Bison and has a 234-269 record at NDSU. Brown previously was the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for eight seasons at Bowling Green, where he was part of two division titles and a regular-season title in the Mid-American Conference. Brown began his collegiate coaching career in 1999 as a volunteer assistant at Arizona. He was a left-handed pitcher for the Wildcats under Hall of Fame coach Jerry Kindall and a member of the 1992 Pac-10 champs.
