SACRAMENTO, Calif. – North Dakota State seniors Alexis Woods and Lauren Gietzen saw their collegiate track & field careers come to a close Friday evening at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds in Sacramento.
Woods ended her Bison career with a season-best 53.83 in the national quarterfinals of the 400m dash, placing 21st. The Parshall, N.D., native is the second-fastest NDSU woman ever in the 400m.
Gietzen cleared 12-10.75 (3.93m) in the pole vault but bowed out at 13-04.50 (4.08m) to tie for 22nd place, grazing the bar on some strong attempts. The Bismarck Century product ends her career No. 2 all-time at NDSU in the pole vault.
