North Dakota State's Akealy Moton, Bailey Retzlaff and Amanda Levin will represent the Bison women's track & field team at the NCAA Outdoor Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas, on June 6-8.
Moton will compete in a pair of events Thursday night after qualifying in both the shot put and javelin. Retzlaff will throw the hammer on Thursday afternoon, and Levin will compete in the seven-event heptathlon on Friday and Saturday.

Competition Format
Twenty-four women qualified to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in each event through the NCAA Preliminary Rounds format. In every throwing event, each athlete will receive three preliminary attempts. The top nine performers will advance to the final round, earning three additional attempts.
All-America Honors
The top eight finishers in all events will earn first team All-American honors, places 9 through 16 will be named second team All-Americans, and all other national meet competitors will receive honorable mention status.
Top Placer
Laura Hermanson is the highest women's national-meet finisher in NDSU's Division I history, taking second place in the 800 meters at the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
15 in 11 Years
The NDSU women have 15 top-eight finishes at the NCAA Division I Championships (indoor and outdoor combined) since becoming eligible in 2009. Alyssa Olin (javelin) and Maddy Nilles (hammer throw) both placed fifth at the NCAA Outdoor Championships last year.
Nation's Best Throws Crew
NDSU owns the No. 1 Event Squad Ranking in both the hammer throw and shot put this season. The Bison women are the only team in the nation with three women over 205 feet in the hammer, and the only school in the country with three women over 51 feet in the shot put. The Bison women had 10 NCAA West Prelims Entries in the throwing events.
Multi-Events History
Amanda Levin is the first Bison qualifier for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the heptathlon since Whitney Carlson in 2011. Carlson finished fifth for first-team All-America honors that year, scoring a then-school record 5,556 points. Levin broke Carlson's record by 139 points earlier this season, scoring 5,695 at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
Throwing Events Regulars
NDSU has sent a women's qualifier to the NCAA Championships in the hammer throw for three straight seasons – Katelyn Weimerskirch in 2017, Maddy Nilles in 2018, and Retzlaff in 2019.
The Bison have had a representative in the women's javelin at the national meet for four of the past five years – Sierra Rosenau in 2015, Alyssa Olin in 2017 and 2018, and Moton in 2019.
Kept the Streak Alive
The Bison women have advanced qualifiers to the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the seventh consecutive year. NDSU has sent multiple qualifiers to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in five of the past six years.
24 in a Row
The Bison women have captured 24 consecutive Summit League team titles – 12 indoor and 12 outdoor. NDSU has won every conference title since joining the league prior to the 2008 season.
