FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State Softball has released the date for its 2022 winter camps (pitching, catching and instructional), which will be on Sunday, January 16, 2022 inside the Dacotah Field Bubble.
NDSU softball winter camps, led by head coach
Darren Mueller, associate head coach
Gerice Olson, and assistant coach
Kayti Grable, focus on the development of new skills, as well as sharpen current skills across the game of softball. These camps are open to any and all entrants for players in grades 7-12.
The pitching and catching camps will run together in the morning session and will be $85 per camper. The afternoon instructional camp is $100 per camper. Any camper who attends either of the morning sessions and the afternoon session will receive a discounted rate of $180. All campers will receive an NDSU Softball T-shirt.
9:30-11:30 a.m. - Pitching Camp
This camp is designed to breakdown pitching mechanics to help strengthen both pitching skills and pitching knowledge. The pitching camp will include mechanical instruction with drills, mental approaches, different pitches, spin rotations, and live situations with catchers. Pitchers do NOT need to have a catcher.
9:30-11:30 a.m. - Catching Camp
Join Associate Head Coach
Gerice Olson and NDSU Softball Players for our Catching Camp. Gerice was an integral part of the 2000 NDSU Softball National Championship team and has coached numerous All-Conference and All-Region athletes in her career. This camp is designed to provide an introductory level of instruction to the NDSU catching philosophy, daily training regimens, throwing, blocking, footwork, framing, and much more. It will provide each participant with an understanding of catching and drills that will sharpen your game behind the plate. Catchers will have the opportunity to catch pitchers at the end of the session. Catchers must provide their own gear.
1-4 p.m. - Instructional Camp
The Instructional Camp allows campers to work with the NDSU Softball staff and players to enhance their offensive and defensive skills. Whether you are just starting to love the game or have loved the game for years, this is a great opportunity to develop strong fundamentals, gather drills to take home to perfect your craft, and fix your little habits that are keeping you away from the next level. This camp will feature BLAST MOTION. We are thrilled to provide auto-analysis of each hitter's swing to keep them on track and game ready.
What to bring:
