DES MOINES, Iowa – The North Dakota State women's track & field team capped its weekend at the Drake Relays by capturing the 2021 Relays Cup – presented to the top-performing team in the relay events. The Bison women set two school records and won two more titles in the throwing events on Saturday.
This is the first time in school history that the Bison have won the Relays Cup. It is awarded annually to the team with the highest point total across the 4x100m, 4x400m, 4x800m, sprint medley, and distance medley relays.
The Bison finished with 24 points to tie Iowa State in first, but NDSU claimed the Cup via a tiebreaker of highest finish in the shuttle hurdle relay.
The Bison shattered the previous school record in the distance medley, with

Alyssa Lind,
Peyton Frolek and
Jennie Baragar-Petrash finishing in 11:15.89 for third place. The quartet broke the previous NDSU outdoor record by 17 seconds.
Bailee Dierks,
Salmata Korgho,
Jenna Kes and
Ansley Schug ran 57.55 in the shuttle hurdle relay, taking second place and setting a new NDSU school record.

Maddy Nilles won the hammer throw title, throwing 222-6 (67.83m) to win by more than 10 feet. She currently ranks fourth on the national performance list this season.
Tasha Willing moved into the NCAA's top 40 this year with a personal-best throw of 205-1 (62.51m).
Junior
Kari Wolfe took the javelin crown, throwing 174-4 (53.14m) for the win.

Grace Zimmerman, Lind and
Nell Graham placed fifth in the 4x400m relay, running a season-best 3:42.81 to seal the Relays Cup championship in the final event.
