Three Bison Throwers Post National Top-Five Marks Friday in Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The North Dakota State women's track & field team filled Day 2 of the Tennessee Relays with a number of outstanding performances Friday. Three Bison throwers established marks that stand among the top five in the nation this season.
 
Akealy Moton tacked another six inches onto her NDSU school record in the outdoor shot put, throwing 58-10.25 (17.94m) to stand at No. 3 in the NCAA this season. Bison senior Shelby Gunnells launched a personal-best 58-04.00 (17.78m) in the shot put, ranking fourth in the NCAA.
 
Bison junior Kari Wolfe added six feet to her personal-best in the javelin, throwing 180-0 (54.86m) to win the Tennessee Relays title. She now ranks fifth in the nation this year.
 
Jennie Baragar-Petrash registered a personal-best by 22 seconds in the 5000m, winning in 15:53.40. Her time stands as the second-fastest 5000m in NDSU history, trailing only Olympian Erin Teschuk, and enters the top 15 of the national performance list for the outdoor season.
 
Senior Annika Rotvold cut more than a second off her PR in the 1500m, running 4:23.19 to rank fourth-fastest in school history.
 
Ansley Schug ran a personal-best 14.03 in the 100m hurdles, taking fourth place in the meet and moving into a tie for sixth on the NDSU all-time list.
 
Amanda Anderson threw a season-best 173-11 (53.01m) in the discus for third place. Daejha Moss recorded a long jump personal-best of 19-05.50 (5.93m) to place fourth, and Jodi Lipp went 39-10.50 (12.15m) in the triple jump for fourth.
 
Senior Klara Lyon cleared 12-10 (3.91m) in the pole vault, coming within three inches of her outdoor best.
 
Freshman Emily Poole threw 147-1 (44.83m) in the javelin to rank ninth in NDSU history.
 
Peyton Frolek registered an outdoor 800m personal-best of 2:10.15, and Nell Graham clocked an outdoor 400m dash PR of 56.49, taking fifth place. Freshman Kendra Kelley clocked an outdoor personal-best of 24.45 in the 200m dash.
 
Jenna Kes finished sixth in the heptathlon, scoring 4,699 points. Bailee Dierks ran a personal-best 1:04.34 in the 400m hurdles for eighth place.
