NDSU Softball Announces 2022 Schedule
 
FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State Softball head coach Darren Mueller announced the 2022 softball schedule Tuesday morning, which features eight home dates and six early season tournaments and invitationals.
 
The 53-game schedule features seven games against NCAA Tournament teams from last season and also includes 12 home games in a 21-game Summit League schedule that will begin in late March.
 
The Bison will begin the season in California with the Santa Barbara Invitational on Feb. 11-13. The Bison will then take part in the GATA Challenge hosted by Georgia Southern on Feb. 18-20 in Statesboro, followed by the New Mexico Invitational in Albuquerque from Feb. 25-27.
 
NDSU will return to the west coast in early March with a trip to the Amy S. Harrison Classic in Riverside Calif. on March 4-6. Over spring break, the Bison will hit both coasts, starting out in Oregon at the Oregon/Oregon State Invite in Eugene and Corvallis on March 11-13. NDSU will then fly to the east coast and take on Virginia in a single game on March 15 in Charlottesville before wrapping up non-conference play with a trip to College Park, Md. For the Maryland Invitational on March 18-20.
 
Summit League play is slated to begin March 26-27 in Vermillion, S.D. at South Dakota. All Summit League series are slated to be three games with a doubleheader the first day and a single game on day two.
 
After a trip to Omaha to begin the month of April, the Bison will open up the home schedule at Tharaldson Park Apr. 9-10, welcoming in Kansas City. NDSU will then host Western Illinois (Apr. 15-16) and South Dakota State (Apr. 23-24) before the final road trip of the conference season as the Bison head to Grand Forks to take on North Dakota Apr. 30-May 1.
 
The Bison close out the regular season at home against new Summit League foe St. Thomas on May 6-7.
 
The 2022 Summit League Softball Championship will take place May 11-14 at the Jackrabbit Softball Stadium in Brookings, S.D. The winner of the Summit League Championship receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
