SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - North Dakota State's
Emilee Buringa has been named the TicketSmarter Summit League Softball Player of the Week honors, league officials announced on Monday.
Buringa led the Bison to a 4-0 weekend at the Georgia Southern hosted GATA Challenge in Statesboro, Ga., where the sophomore center fielder hit .636 after going 7-for-11 with a home run and a double. The St. Charles, Minn. natives opening performance against UT-Martin saw her collect four RBI, a new career best, with a home run with three total hits.
In total, Buringa drove in seven runs and scored five more, while also recording a stolen base. She finished the weekend with an impressive 1.000 slugging percentage and an OPS of 1.615.
Buringa is the first Bison to earn Summit League softball honors this season and the first Bison to earn player of the week honors since Maddie Hansen won on April 8, 2019.
