SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - North Dakota State softball's Bella Dean was named the Summit League Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week, following last week's 4-2 weekend for the Bison that included a sweep of Kansas City.
Dean had a dominant week at home over six games, hitting .706 (12-for-17) with a pair of doubles and a walk off grand slam in game two of the series against Kansas City to help her to a 1.000 slugging percentage. Dean also had four walks, posting a .762 on-base percentage and a 1.762 ops. She finished with a total of 12 RBI and also had three runs scored.
Over the six-game stretch, which came against the second and third place teams in the league entering the week, Dean reached base safely at least twice in every game, recording at least two hits or a hit and a walk in each game. She posted a .625 batting average in the St. Thomas series before hitting .778 against Kansas City. Dean also recorded her first career four-hit game and first career five-RBI game in the series against Kansas City.
It is the fifth Summit League Peak Performer honor for Dean in her career, and her second this season after winning the award following the opening weekend. It is the seventh Peak Performer/Pitcher accolade of the season for NDSU.
