2007 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Started 11 games in the outfield and one as DH in 23 contests...Hit .190 with eight hits in 42 at-bats...Had a four-game hitting streak midway through the season that jumped his average as high as .286...2006 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Started 13 of 22 games played...Hit safely at Wichita State, Kansas State, Centenary and Western Illinois...Scored runs at Creighton and Kansas...HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated in 2005 from Mounds View High School in Arden Hills...Two-year varsity outfielder for coach Brad Tullberg...Hit .468 his senior year...Named team MVP and earned honorable mention to the all-state team...Played three years for Legion baseball power Tri-City Red...Captained both baseball squads as well as the Mounds View football and hockey teams...All-conference on the gridiron, where he set a school single-season record for net punting average...MVP of the hockey team...PERSONAL: Majoring in history with a minor in psychology...Family includes two sisters, Mary Ann and Teresa, and a brother, Tony...Son of Jeff and Sue Gazich of Arden Hills, Minn...Jeff played baseball at St. Thomas (Minn.).
