2006 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Started 50 of 50 games played...Second on the team in seven offensive categories--hitting (.320), slugging (.430), on-base percentage (.380), hits (64), at-bats (200), stolen bases (5) and hit-by-pitches (7)...Led the team with three triples...His 200 at-bats ranked second in single-season school history...Led the team with 120 assists on the infield, the third most in school history....Ended the season on a nine-game hitting streak, including 12-for-22 with five RBIs and five runs scored in the D-I independent tournament...Named to the all-tournament team...Led NDSU in multi-hit games with 19, including six straight to end the year...Hit a grand slam to help the Bison to a 9-8 win over Portland in the second game of the year...Pitched a complete-game gem three days later against UC Davis in his first collegiate start, but lost 2-1 on a pair of unearned runs...Winning pitcher at home against South Dakota State in another complete-game effort as the Bison won 5-4...Independent all-academic team...Honorable mention to the all-independent team...2005 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Started 52 of 53 games at shortstop, missing only the fourth game of the Western Illinois series (4/10)...Led the club in at-bats (194), hits (57), batting average (.294) and triples (4)...His 144 assists and 194 at-bats established school single-season records...Hit .344 with runners on base and .370 with RISP (6-for-7 and 13 RBIs with the bases loaded)...Division I independent Newcomer of the Week (5/10) after he hit .588 with three doubles, a triple, five RBIs, four runs scored, and was perfect in 20 defensive chances over a four-game stretch against Concordia, Minnesota, and Minnesota-Duluth...HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated in 2004 from Coon Rapids High School where he was a three-year starter for coaches Jerry Coe and Don Bright...Two-time selection to the Star Tribune All-Metro Team, Lions All-Star Game participant, two-time all-conference and all-state as a senior...Captain and team MVP...Hit .346 as a junior and followed with a .493 average as a senior when he hit seven homers, collected 29 RBIs and scored 27 runs...Pitched 50 innings his senior year, striking out 34 batters while walking only 10 and finishing 5-1 with a 1.27 ERA...Went 36 innings without surrendering an earned run...Played for Coon Rapids Legion Post 334 and coach Tom Yelle, hitting .421 with 12 homers and 63 RBI in 2004...Pitched 57 innings and finished 6-2 with seven saves, 51 strikeouts, 12 walks and a 2.33 ERA...Set team records for hits (78) and triples (11) in a season...Also played three years of hockey...Scored 19 goals and had 21 assists as a senior when he was captain and MVP...Named all-conference...PERSONAL: Majoring in business administration...Son of Larry and Paula Mossey of Coon Rapids...Family includes an older brother, Dan, who played baseball for the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota.
