Biography

2007 SEASON (JUNIOR): Played in 45 of 47 games and making 37 starts at third base and seven at shortstop...NDSU’s leading hitter with a .355 average, 55 hits, 12 doubles, 10 home runs, 101 total bases and 38 RBIs...Also led the team in slugging (.652)...Hit for the cycle in the last game of the year, a 9-6 win over New Jersey Tech (5/26)...Hit a two-out double in the first, a two-out RBI single in the third, a two-run triple in the fifth, and a leadoff homer in NDSU’s five-run eighth inning...Co-MVP of the Division I independent tournament, where he was the tournament’s leading hitter with a .722 batting average (13-for-18) in four games, had seven extra-base hits including four home runs, drove in 14 runs, and was errorless in 17 defensive chances...Hit 19-for-29 and had six multi-hit games in the final seven contests...Two homers in the loss to Utah Valley (5/23) and two round-trippers to cap a doubleheader sweep of Minnesota-Duluth (4/19)...Pitched nine innings in six relief appearances...2006 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): One of only two players to make all 53 starts, tying a school record...Set school single-season records for defensive chances (391) and putouts (351)...His team-high 30 walks tied for third most in single-season team history...Also led the club with four sac flies, two shy of the season record...Hit .263 with three homers and 23 RBIs...Ended the year on a five-game hitting streak...Hit 4-for-5 with four RBIs in the first game of the series at South Dakota State (4/21)...2005 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Played in 43 games and hit .207...Made 35 starts, including nods at all three outfield spots and first, second and third base...Went 5-for-5 vs. Valley City State (3/31) for the seventh five-hit game in school history...Drove in three runs and had 10 putouts in the win over Concordia-Moorhead (5/2)...Hit .300 with runners on and two out...HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Eastview High School in 2004...Three-year starter for coach Tom Strey...Hit .408 as a senior and picked up all-conferenece and honorable mention all-state accolades...Belted four homers and 18 doubles while driving in 35 runs during his prep career...Played in the Lions All-Star Game...Played Legion baseball for the Apple Valley 76ers and coach Bruce Young...Hit over .400 in each of his last two seasons...Played second base and shortstop...Cranked out 11 homers and 19 doubles in those two seasons while driving in 85 runs...Wrestled throughout high school and was a three-time state qualifier and two-time all-conference honoree...Set the school career record for most takedowns and was second in wins and team points...Also played football, where he lettered twice and was all-conference...PERSONAL: Majoring in business administration with a minor in marketing...Family includes a younger sister, Ashley...Son of Michelle Jurewicz of Apple Valley, Minn...His father, Mike Langlais of Lakeville, Minn., was a five-time All-America wrestler at North Dakota State from 1981-1984...His 151 career wins are by far the most in school history (151-22)...He is a member of the Bison Athletic Hall of Fame and the Division II Wrestling Hall of Fame, among others.
