One of several experienced players in the secondary...Enters fall camp listed second on the depth chart...Tough competitor who runs well...2003 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Played in 10 games...Made six tackles including a sack for seven yards against Concordia-St. Paul in the season finale...2002 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Played in eight games for the Bison, earning one start against South Dakota State...Tallied 19 tackles including one for a loss...Charted a career-high eight tackles in the St. Cloud State game and had five stops in the South Dakota State contest...2001 SEASON (REDSHIRT): Sat out the 2001 season as redshirt in the Bison football program...HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Velva High School where he was first team all-conference and first team all-state as a running back his senior year...Region MVP and team captain, he played both running back and defensive back in HS...MVP of the state title game, where he broke an 80-yard touchdown run as Velva finished 12-1 to take the Class A state crown...Ran for 1,310 yards and 21 TDs as a senior, averaging 8.6 yards per carry...Recorded 89 tackles on defense including 24 solo stops, had four pass deflections, and one fumble recovery...Part of a program that was 40-8 over his career including state titles in both 1997 and 2000...Also competed in baseball, wrestling and track...Ran on a number of state-placing relay teams in track, was twice all-region in baseball, and finished second in the state in wrestling as a senior...PERSONAL: Majoring in biology education with a minor in chemistry...Enjoys sports and music in his off time...Family includes two older brothers, three younger brothers, and one younger sister...Brother Jayd Kittelson is a linebacker on the current Bison grid team...Son of Greg and Cindy Wiest of Velva.
