Biography

Stuck behind North Dakota State’s all-time leading 3-point shooter for his first three years, he will move into the spotlight this season...Rebounding from a series of knee surgeries, but ran a half-marathon in the fall and appears ready for the grind of a full season...Excellent shooter who can be very sharp from the perimeter.

2003-04 Season (Junior): Played in 27 of 29 games for the Herd, missing the first two home games with a slight injury before bouncing back to make 21 straight starts...The Bison were 14-7 with him in the starting lineup...Averaged 6.0 points and 1.7 rebounds per game...Scored in double digits four times including a season-high 14 points in the win at St. Cloud State.

2002-03 Season (Sophomore): Played in all 31 games and started the first seven...Averaged 5.6 points per game and proved to be a threat from the outside, hitting 42 of 106 three-pointers...Scored in double digits seven times including a career-high 17 against Mayville State and 16 against Henderson State in the season-opening Disney tournament...Hit six of 10 shots in the Disney championship game against Henderson State, including four of six 3-pointers...Top all-around performance may have been against Mayville State when he canned 6 of 9 field goals for 17 points, including 5 of 8 from behind the arc, three steals, three assists and two rebounds.

2001-02 Season (Freshman): Saw action in 20 games but did not get a start...Scored a season-high 16 points in the home drubbing of Morningside College, his only double-digit scoring performance of the year...Shot 41.5 percent and would have been at 49 percent without a poor night against Minnesota-Morris...Managed a season-best four rebounds against Morris...Logged 10 or more minutes five times.

High School: Starred at Fargo South High School where he averaged 14.4 points per game in his career including 17.9 and 21.8 points per game in his junior and senior years, respectively...First team all-state his senior year and all-conference in his junior and senior years...The 2001 "Mr. Basketball" for the state of North Dakota...Named the Gatorade North Dakota Men’s Basketball Player of the Year in 2001...Awarded the Eastern Dakota Conference and North Dakota Class A Player of the Year honors...Selected as a McDonald’s All-American...Set the Fargo South career scoring record at 1,296 points and most 3-pointers in a game with seven...Played all four years and started in three...Scored 84 points in three games in the 2000 Eastern Dakota Conference tournament...Participated in track, where he placed fourth in the long jump as a junior and a senior.

Personal: Majoring in business administration...Enjoys sports, wakeboarding, golf and fishing in his spare time...Son of Doug and Sarah Dobmeier of Fargo...Has two sisters, Andrea and Amanda...Andrea competed in track at St. Cloud (Minn.) State University.
