Young player who gives the Bison good depth at the guard position...Saw action in 17 games a year ago and should be able to put that experience to good use this season...Makes great decisions and can run the offense..Will be counted on for solid minutes in reserve.

2003-04 Season (Freshman): Played in 17 games off the bench for the Bison...Scored 10 points in home victories over Dickinson State and Mayville State and had a season-high four assists in the Dickinson State game...Played 23 minutes against Mayville and 22 against Dickinson...Those were his two longest outings...Was a solid 10-for-14 at the free-throw line but never saw more than two attempts in a single game.

2002-03 Season (Redshirt): Sat out the season as a redshirt in the Bison program.

High School: Started and lettered three years at guard for Marshall High School...Rolled up 1,003 points in his prep career...Averaged 18 points a game and 2.1 assists per game...Co-captained the Marshall squad his senior year and was the all-area player of the year...Minnesota All-Star Game participant in 2001-02 and the first such representative from Marshall High...All-area first-teamer as a junior and honorable mention to that squad as a sophomore...Two-time letterwinner on the gridiron as a wide receiver, kicker and free safety...All-conference honorable mention and letterman on the baseball diamond his senior season.

Personal: Majoring in criminal justice with a minor in psychology...Hobbies include collecting medieval swords and knives...Son of Dave and Nancy Meier of Marshall...Older sister Kim was a setter for the volleyball team at Concordia-Moorhead...Stepbrother Mike was once the Defensive Player of the Year in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference while playing for Southwest Minnesota State.
