Biography
The 2006 Season (Junior): Started all 30 matches and played in all 116 games...Led the Division I independents in hitting percentage (.356) and was second in blocks per game (1.43)...Exploded onto the scene with 16 kills and a career-high 12 blocks in the first match of the season, a 3-2 loss at South Dakota State...Also had matches of 12 and 10 kills the same weekend en route to all-tournament honors...Hit .400 or better in 13 matches, including a career-high .625 in a win at Brown where she belted 20 kills and went errorless in 32 attacks...Had three double-doubles, including 18 kills and 10 blocks in a 3-2 win over South Dakota State in the season finale...Voted to the Division I all-independent first team by head coaches and sports information directors.
The 2005 Season (Sophomore): Made all 36 starts and played in all 124 games...Led the Bison with 126 total blocks and 1.02 blocks per game...Ranked fourth in the Division I independent blocking stats and also was eighth in hitting percentage (.250)...Fourth on the team in kills (238) and kills per game (1.92)...Had a career-high 15 kills in a win at Air Force, connecting for a career-best .550 hitting percentage with four errors in 20 attacks...Had nine kills vs. Xavier and was one block shy of the school four-game record for block assists with 11...Named to the all-tournament team at Minnesota for her effort.
The 2004 Season (Freshman): Played in 18 matches and 33 games...Made her only start in the 3-0 loss at Butler Oct. 23...Recorded four kills and hit .500 (4k-0e-8att) in the match, plus a block assist to finish with 4.5 points...Made two digs at Creighton Sept. 8.
High School: A 2004 graduate of Mayer Lutheran High...Played for coach Joelle Grimsley...Sparked the Crusaders to a 23-8 record in 2003 and the program’s first Class 2A state tournament appearance since 1999...During her senior year, recorded 299 kills, 101 digs, 38 blocks and 12 aces in earning honorable mention on the Class 2A all-state team...Also selected to the 2003 Class 2A all-state tournament team...Played for the Heartland Adidas South J.O. volleyball club...On the basketball court, averaged 14 points, 12.7 rebounds and 5.7 blocks per game to earn KDUZ all-area honors...Had 21 double-doubles her senior year on the court...Mayer Lutheran won the 2003 Class A state track meet her junior year...Individually, she tied for third in the high jump and placed fifth in the 200...Also ran on the second place 4x400 and third place 4x200 relay teams...Member of the National Honor Society, Daniel Program, choir, ACT and College Prep Program...Participated in the National Youth Gathering and Habitat for Humanity.
Personal: Daughter of Dale and Karene Stuewe...Has a brother, Eric, and two sisters, Tricia and Jenny....Majoring in child development and family science with a minor in criminal justice...Worked as an NDSU volleyball camp counselor during the summer months and also was an usher for the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks baseball club.
