BISON CAREER
2010-11 (Sophomore): Rejoined the team at the beginning of 2011 to fill a void at heavyweight...Went 2-6 overall and 1-4 in duals...Snapped a four match losing streak with a 6-5 win over Utah Valley's Christian Denny in the regular season finale...Went 1-2 at the NCAA West Regional, losing to No. 15 Christian Brantley of Northern Iowa in the opening round and then pinning Denny in the first consolation round...Eliminated from the tournament with an 8-0 loss to Jared Erickson of Air Force.

2009-10 (Freshman): Posted an overall record of 17-6...Won the amateur division at the Kaufman-Brand Open at 197 pounds...Finished second at both the Dragon Open and the Dickinson State Classic...Pinned Wyoming's L.J. Helbig in 59 seconds in the dual loss...Lost an 8-5 decision to UNI's John Simon in an exhibition match.

2008-09 (Redshirt): Competed in three tournaments at 174 pounds as an unattached wrestler...Went 1-2 at both the Bison Open and the Kaufman/Brand Open...Finished fifth at the North Country Open with a 4-2 record...Named to the Western Wrestling Conference Coaches' Honor Roll for academics.

HIGH SCHOOL
Three-time Minnesota state qualifier from Hibbing HS...Placed third at state as a senior...Five-time all-conference selection...Named Outstanding Wrestler of the conference in 2008...Holds Hibbing records for most career victories (185), most career pins (99) and most career team points (841)...All-State academic selection.

PERSONAL
Majoring in university studies...Son of Curt and Sunny Johnson...Brother, Skip, wrestled at NDSU from 2003-05...Uncle Wayne wrestled for the Bison from 1969-1973 and now coaches at Hibbing.
