LOS ANGELES - Omar Cotto Lozada hit a three-run homer with two outs in the 12th inning and Southern California completed a three-game sweep of North Dakota State with a 5-3 win in college baseball Sunday, Feb. 23, at Dedeaux Field.

Cotto's first collegiate home run gave USC its fourth walk-off victory of the season and its second of the series as the Trojans improved to 7-0. North Dakota State fell to 0-3.

USC did all of its damage with two outs. The Trojans needed a pair of two-out hits from Kevin Swick and Jeremy Martinez in the eighth inning to come back from a 2-0 deficit.

North Dakota State left two runners on base in each the ninth, 10th and 11th innings before breaking through in the 12th when Wes Satzinger roped a one-out double into the left field corner and scored on Kyle Kleinendorst's single to right.

NDSU went ahead 1-0 in the fifth. Blake Turbak singled and stole third base one batter later before scoring on John Skrbec's fielder's choice. The Bison went ahead 2-0 in the seventh when pinch hitter Nick Altavilla drew a leadoff walk, stole second and scored on Michael Leach's double.

Adam Lambrecht pitched the final 2 2/3 innings and dropped to 0-1 with the loss. He got a pair of ground ball outs to start the 12th before Swick laced a single up the middle and Bobby Stahel drew a four-pitch walk representing the winning run.

NDSU starter Parker Trewin tossed five scoreless innings with three strikeouts and one walk before turning it over to Trevor Jaunich for 3 2/3 innings of work. Jaunich struck out three of the first five batters he faced and was responsible for one earned run.

Satzinger, Kleinendorst and Jon Hechtner had two hits apiece for North Dakota State. Tim Colwell had a 14-game hitting streak snapped going 0-for-6 in the leadoff spot.

North Dakota State is scheduled to play a four-game series at Murray State beginning Friday, Feb. 28. The Thoroughbreds are 4-2 heading into a Wednesday home game with Mid-Continent University.
