FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State baseball team (15-19) saw an early three-run lead slip away in a 4-3 loss to rival North Dakota (9-20) Tuesday night, April 29, at Newman Outdoor Field.

Four Bison went 2-for-4 at the plate while Kyle Kleinendorst, John Skrbec and Luke Lind each tallied an RBI in the contest.

Sean Terres, who pitched three innings and struck out two, took the loss for NDSU to fall to 1-1 overall.

North Dakota's Taylor Petersen went 3-for-4 with an RBI to lead the UND offense.

UND pitcher Patrick Riewer pitched a complete game in his first start at North Dakota, going the full nine innings with six strikeouts and two walks to pick up the win and move to 1-0 overall.

The Bison struck first, taking an early 3-0 lead after plating a pair of runs in the second inning and added another score in the third. Skrbec doubled, scoring Jon Hechtner, before Lind's sacrifice fly allowed Andy Wicklund to cross home plate in the second. Kleinendorst extended the Bison lead to 3-0 with a sacrifice fly in the third that scored Tim Colwell.

North Dakota fought back though, and tied the contest in the fifth after scoring three runs. UND took the lead in the top of the sixth.

With the loss, the Bison fall to 15-19 overall while UND moves to 9-20 on the season.

NDSU is scheduled to return to action Friday, May 2, when it begins a four-game Summit League series at Fort Wayne. First-pitch from Mastodon Field in Fort Wayne, Ind., is slated for 3 p.m. ET (2 p.m. CT).
