Rosenau Breaks Javelin School Record in Season Opener at Arizona State

TEMPE, Ariz. – Senior Sierra Rosenau extended her school record in the javelin to highlight the efforts of the North Dakota State women's track & field team at the Baldy Castillo Invitational on Saturday, March 19.
Rosenau (Carrington, N.D.) pushed the NDSU javelin record to 165-9 (50.53m) in her first meet of the season, adding 18 inches to her own school record in the event.
Junior Courtney Pasiowitz posted an outdoor personal-best of 51-00.00 (15.54m) in the shot put, ranking third in school history. Pasiowitz finished second in the meet, and sophomore Kelsey Laufenberg threw 47-09.00 (14.55m) for sixth place.
Junior Katelyn Weimerskirch, the school record holder in the discus, threw 161-2 (49.12m) for ninth place in the event. Freshman Maddy Nilles posted a throw of 148-0 (45.12m) in her collegiate discus debut, ranking ninth in NDSU history.
Weimerskirch also posted a toss of 47-03.00 (14.40m) in the shot put for seventh place.
The Bison will travel to Riverside, Calif., to compete in the UC Riverside Spring Track Classic on Mar. 24-26.
