Talley Wins Hammer Throw, Bison Men Clock Impressive Relays at Drake

DES MOINES, Iowa – The North Dakota State men's track & field team wrapped up an impressive three days at the Drake Relays with one more event title and several performances that altered the school's record books.
 
Alex Talley claimed the hammer throw title, posting a career-best mark of 222-1 (67.70m). He moved up to 15th in the NCAA this season and No. 2 in NDSU history, less than three feet behind school record holder Steffan Stroh (2018).
 
Darrien Lipscomb, Jacob Rodin, Cody Roder and Adrian Harris burned a time of 3:09.87 in the 4x400m relay – the fifth-fastest 4x4 in school history, and the fastest by the Bison in 16 years.
 
Elliott Stone, Jacob Levin, Keiser Freetly and Alex Bartholomay ran 9:49.86 in the distance medley, ranking fourth-fastest in NDSU history. Bartholomay clocked a remarkable 4:03.6 on the 1600m anchor leg.
 
Freshman Trent Davis clocked a personal-best 14.07 for fifth place in the 110m hurdles final, moving up to fifth on the NDSU all-time list.
 
Former Bison national champion Payton Otterdahl placed fourth in the special invitational men's shot put competition, throwing 67-08.25 (20.63m) for his outdoor season opener.
