Alex Talley registered the performance of a lifetime on Friday evening at the Rock Chalk Classic. All six of his attempts in the hammer throw surpassed the previous school record.

When all was said and done, Talley established a new lifetime best of 233-1 (71.05m) – an improvement of 11 feet over his previous best. The West Fargo native broke Steffan Stroh's 2018 school record by over eight feet.

Talley is now ranked seventh in the NCAA this season for the hammer throw, to go along with his top-15 national ranking in the shot put.

NDSU's
Benji Phillips started the day on a high note for the Bison, winning the javelin with a throw of 227-3 (69.26m). It was Phillips' third event title of the season. He ranks 13th in the NCAA this year.

Brandon Lewis had a huge wind-aided long jump mark of 25-04.50 (7.73m) to take second place in the meet, and he also posted a wind-legal jump of 24-07.00 (7.49m).

Alex Bartholomay took three seconds off his 1500m PR, running 3:48.29 for second place in the meet. He now ranks fifth-fastest in NDSU history.
Josh Samyn also claimed a personal-best in the 1500m, finishing in 3:51.70.

Bison freshman
Adrian Harris clocked a personal-best 21.45 in the 200m dash, just missing a spot in the NDSU all-time Top 10.
Alex Brosseau recorded the second-fastest 200m dash of his career, finishing in 21.70.

Decathlete
Tony Ukkelberg recorded two new career-bests on Friday, starting with a throw of 180-8 (55.08m) in the javelin. Ukkelberg also cleared 14-4 (4.37m) in the pole vault.

Sophomore
Kristoffer Thomsen registered a hammer throw personal-best of 195-4 (59.54m).

Senior
Elliott Stone ran a season-best 14:41.54 in the 5,000m.
