Preseason honorable mention to the All-Great West Football Conference team at wide receiver and second team as a kick return specialist...In his second year of football for the Herd after a standout two years at Nebraska-Kearney...Very fast with good hands and with a great track record...Listed as the No. 1 receiver at the flanker position entering fall camp...2003 SEASON (JUNIOR): NDSU's leading receiver with an average of 51.8 yards per game...Caught 56 passes for 570 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 10.2 yards per catch...Ran for three TDs on three attempts...Averaged 22.8 yards on 12 kick returns including a long of 52...Also brought back 17 punts for an average of 6.8 yards per punt...2002 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Played in the first six games at Nebraska-Kearney where he caught 24 passes for 343 yards and one touchdown...Also carried the ball 10 times for 23 yards and another score...Led the team in punt returns with an average of 15.4 yards per return on 19 returns and returned eight kickoffs for an average of 14.4 ypr...2001 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Played as a true freshman at Nebraska-Kearney where he set a school freshman record with 36 catches for 584 yards and six TDs...COLLEGE TRACK & FIELD: Five-time All-America sprinter...Ran on NDSU's sixth-place 400-meter relay and runner-up 1,600-meter relay at the 2004 outdoor nationals and also was fifth in the 100 meters...Had a record-breaking 2004 season...Set the North Central Conference outdoor record in the 200-meter dash (:20.69) in 2004...Ran the lead leg of the indoor school-record 800 relay and put his name in seven spots in the NDSU outdoor record book...Ran Schlanser Track-record times in the 100 meters (:10.44) and 200 meters (:20.69), was part of the track-record 400 and 1,600 relay teams, set the school record in the 100 meters (:10.22), and was part of the record-setting 800 and 1,600 relays...Also made an impact in his first year with the Herd, placing eighth in the 100 meters at the 2003 national outdoor meet for NDSU...Finished sixth in the nation in the 200 meters at the 2002 NCAA outdoor for Nebraska-Kearney...Six-time North Central Conference outdoor champion (twice in the 100 and 200, plus the 400 and 1,600 relays once each)...Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference champion at UNK in the 200 meters indoors...HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Overland High School in Aurora where he was a two-year starter as a wide receiver, catching 45 career passes for 850 yards despite missing his junior season with a torn ACL...Also competed in track where he was all-conference in the 100 meters and All-State twice as a member of the 400- and 800-meter relay teams...PERSONAL: Majoring in sociology with a minor in physical education...Enjoys playing video games, sports and reading in his spare time...Son of Mary Burrell of Aurora.
