HIGH SCHOOL: Was a three-year starter at Academy of Holy Angels ... Named team captain as a senior ... Compiled a 6-2 record with a 1.40 ERA, 49 strikeouts and 17 walks as a senior ... Posted a career record of 17-5 with a 1.80 ERA, 131 strikeouts and 38 walks ... Named all-conference as a junior and senior, and the team pitching MVP ... Member of two Tri-Metro Championship teams ... Also played football.
