HIGH SCHOOL: Two-year letterwinner and starter at Norman County West High School in Halstad, Minn. ... Posted a 2.48 ERA in 42 1/3 innings pitched at 11 appearances with 76 strikeouts and 37 walks as a senior ... Only allowed 15 earned runs his senior year ... Also played football and basketball. 

PERSONAL: Son of Rodney and Arita Olson ... Has one brother, Blake, and a sister, Brittany ... Played summer baseball for the Moorhead Brewers in 2016 ... His brother-in-law, Mike Peschel, played baseball at NDSU from 1998-2003 ... Plans to major in general agriculture and minor in ag business at NDSU.
