Allie Walljasper

Three-time LSU All-American pitcher and former Team USA member Allie Walljasper was named assistant softball coach at North Dakota State University in July 2019. She spent two seasons with NDSU before joining the Boise State softball program as an assistant coach in July 2021.

Walljasper finished her sterling four-year career for LSU in 2018 and was a student assistant coach for the Tigers in 2019. She compiled a 64-24 record with 22 shutouts, seven saves and 1.56 earned run average in her career. Walljasper struck out 434 and walked 121 in 624.1 innings pitched. Opponents hit only .213 off of her. She also hit .219 with nine home runs including a pair of grand slams, five doubles, 15 runs scored and 34 RBI.

LSU made three trips to the NCAA Women’s College World Series during her career, where Walljasper picked up a pair of wins and a save including a 2-1 decision over UCLA in 2017. The Tigers just missed a fourth trip to the WCWS, dropping the final in the 2018 NCAA Super Regional.

The Manteca, Calif., native, was a second team NFCA All-American and finalist for the Senior CLASS Award in 2018 as a senior after compiling a 19-7 record with one save, seven shutouts and 1.17 ERA. As a junior in 2017, she was a third team NFCA All-American with an 18-6 record, two saves, six shutouts and 1.61 ERA. Her LSU career started as the SEC Freshman of the Year, finalist for national freshman of the year, and NFCA third-team All-American in 2015. Walljasper was 16-5 with one save, five shutouts and 1.83 ERA that season and landed spots on the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional and Super Regional all-tournament teams.

Durable, Walljasper went the distance, throwing a SEC and LSU single-game record 19 innings in a 2-1 win over Ole Miss on April 6, 2018. She faced 68 batters, threw 237 pitches, struck out nine and allowed no earned runs. In her only meeting against NDSU, she lost a nine-inning 1-0 decision on March 24, 2018.

In addition to the NFCA All-American and NCAA all-tournament team recognition, Walljasper was a four-time NFCA All-South Region pick, two-time All-SEC selection, two-time LSWA (Louisiana Sportswriters Association) Pitcher of the Year and four-time all-LSWA team pick. She was also a SEC Pitcher of the Week and LSWA Player of the Year several times.

Walljasper graduated in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in education. She was a three-sport standout for Sierra High School in California, in basketball, softball and volleyball. Walljasper also played for the successful San Jose Sting and Wichita Mustangs during the summers.
