Struck out 59 batters and walked 38 in 77.1 innings pitched ... Ranks No. 8 all-time 5.16 strikeouts per 7 innings pitched ... Career-high eight strikeouts in season opener vs. Morehead State, Ky. 2013 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Saw limited action in six games including one start ... Compiled 1-0 record with a 5.53 earned run average ... Struck out 12 and walked eight in 19 innings pitched ... Season-high six strikeouts vs. George Washington (2-21-13) ... Win came in second game at Western Illinois (4-5-13), helping with a pair of fielding assists ... HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year starter for St. Paul North High School ...Three-time all-state and all-conference performer ... North was the Class AAA state runner-up in 2009 and 2010, 4th place in 2011 ... 2010 all-state tournament team ... Tossed one-hitter at 2009 state tournament ... Conference leader in strikeouts the past three seasons ... In 2011, went 11-1 with a 1.05 earned run average and hit .453 with 23 RBI ... Compiled a 12-1 record with a 0.98 ERA in 2010  and hit .438 with 24 RBI ... That included a 3-0 record and 0.70 ERA at Class AAA State Tournament ...
