NDSU Hosts Kansas City in Home Finale, Senior Day

FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State softball will wrap up the home schedule this weekend, hosting Kansas City at Tharaldson Park. The Bison and Roos are slated for a 1 p.m. doubleheader start on Saturday, weather permitting. Sunday's finale is scheduled for 11 a.m.
Game Coverage
All three games of the series between the Bison and Roos will be streamed live on The Summit League Network and will also include live statistics. A subscription to the Summit League Network will be needed to view the games. Links to the streams and stats will be available on the softball schedule page on gobison.com.
Ticket and Parking Information
All seating at Tharaldson Park is general admission and tickets can be purchased at the gate on game day. Adult tickets are $10. Youth (3-17 yrs) tickets are $5. Gates open 60 minutes prior to game time. No pets or outside food and beverages are allowed. Parking is available in Lot NQ and along 17th Avenue, with overflow parking in Lot RP.
Bison 1660
Games one and three of the series will be broadcast live on Bison 1660, with the audio simulcast on the Summit league Network stream. BJ Walters will call the action from Tharladson Park.
The Series
North Dakota State holds a 29-8 record against Kansas City all-time, dating back to the first meeting on April 30, 2005. Since Kansas CIty rejoined the Summit League in 2021, the Bison are 8-2, including 4-0 last season, with a series sweep in Kansas City before a 3-0 win in the Summit League tournament.
Buringa Reaches 150
Senior Emilee Buringa became the 12th Bison to start 150-consecutive games in NDSU's Division I era last weekend, and enters the weekend at 151. Buringa has started every game for the Bison in the '22, '23 and now '24 seasons. Montana DeCamp (163) and Zoe Stavrou (176) were the last to reach 150, doing so in the 2019 season.
Wihlm Fans Career High
In a relief appearance last weekend, freshman Madison Wihlm struck out a career high six batters in five innings of scoreless work in the circle. Her previous high was five strikeouts in another five-inning relief outing vs. Georgetown on March 3 in Nashville.
Woldruff Bats In Career High
Junior Chloe Woldruff drove in a career high three runs in last week's series opener, with an early two-RBI single and another RBI later in the game. Woldruff had previously drove in two runs on seven occasions, including twice earlier this season.
The Young Herd
NDSU is fourth youngest in NCAA Div. I on average years of experience, averaging 1.000 years per player. NDSU is youngest of any team on the '24 schedule. In the Summit League, St. Thomas is next at 1.458. Wofford (.543), Wagner (.737), Green Bay (.913) and Coppin State (1.038) are the other teams in the top five youngest programs.
Buringa Swiping Bags
Senior Emilee Buringa has a career high 12 stolen bases so far this season, going 12-for-13 overall. Her previous high was eight stolen bases as a sophomore. She swiped her 30th career bag in the series against St. Thomas.
Home Run Numbers Up from '23
Nine Bison have contributed to 25 home runs this season, including six with multiple home runs. NDSU hit 29 homers last year; 13 in non-conference and 16 in league play. NDSU finished non-conference play this season with 20 home runs.
Speedy Bison
North Dakota State has been aggressive on the base paths this season, stealing 39 bags after just 37 last season. NDSU's 39 stolen bases leads in the Summit League, while 39-for-48 (.813) overall is up considerably from a 37-for-53 (.698) campaign last year.
Buringa, Aguilar-Beaucage Match NDSU DI Era Record In Same Game
Emilee Buringa and Anjolee Aguilar-Beaucage each went 4-for-4 with four runs scored in game two of the series with St. Thomas. The duo recorded a hit and run scored in each inning that NDSU's batted. It is tied for the most runs scored in the Division I era and the 11th and 12th times it has been done.

North Dakota State softball wrapped up a 35-game road swing to begin the season with the home opener against St. Thomas at the end of March. The Bison traveled to six different tournaments/invitationals in four different states. The non-conference swing included two 10+ day trips to North Carolina and California.
