2011 SEASON (JUNIOR): Pitched 8 1/3 innings over nine relief appearances...Allowed seven runs on 15 hits, walked six and struck out five...Named to the Summit League Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence...2010 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Made 18 relief appearances with a 3-1 record, three saves and a 4.44 ERA in 26 1/3 innings...Summit League Pitcher of the Week in March after tossing 3 2/3 scoreless innings for a 10-9 win at Lamar...Struck out the side in the bottom of the ninth after NDSU took the lead, and fanned seven of the 12 batters he faced...Pitched a shutout ninth for a save against Nebraska-Omaha and two innings for a save at Western Illinois...Struck out five of the seven he faced for a save against Mayville State...Named to the Summit League Winter/Spring All-Academic Team and Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence...2009 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Played in 16 games and got two starts as designated hitter...Went 1-for-6 at the plate with an RBI single in the ninth inning of a 16-6 loss to Long Island...Had a 2-3 record on the mound with one save and a 5.93 ERA in 13 relief appearances...Struck out 37 batters in 27 1/3 innings...His 12.18 strikeouts per nine innings ranked second in school history...Winning pitcher in back-to-back relief appearances against UMBC and St. Thomas (Fla.)...Struck out a season-high seven batters against Centenary...Named to the Summit League Winter/Spring All-Academic Team...HIGH SCHOOL: Five-year starter for Grafton High School, where he set career records for wins and strikeouts...Three-time all-region pick...Placed fifth at the Class B state tournament his last two seasons...Played four seasons for the Grafton American Legion...Also a four-year starter in football and basketball at the high school...Two-time all-state in football and three-time all-state in basketball, where he led the Spoilers to the Class B state title his senior year...Finished his career with more than 1,500 points and 1,100 rebounds...PERSONAL: Son of Chad and Connie Kliniske of Grafton, N.D...Has a younger brother, Tyler...Father was his high school and American Legion baseball coach...Majoring in marketing...Played for the Mystic Schooners of the New England Collegiate Baseball League last summer...Went 2-2 with one save and a 9.00 ERA in 17 innings of work over 12 appearances.
