2010 SEASON (JUNIOR): Played in 41 of 52 games and made 30 starts, including 20 in the outfield and all eight at first base when Zach Wentz was the starting pitcher...Hit .244 with 16 RBIs...Went 4-for-8 in pinch-hitting situations, including a two-run go-ahead single in the ninth inning of a 10-9 win at Lamar in his first plate appearance of the season...Only home run of the year was a two-out grand slam that broke a 7-7 eighth-inning tie in the 13-7 win over Southern Utah on May 2...Had two 3-for-4 games in the Oakland series...Named to the Summit League Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence...2009 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Hit .279 over 38 games and made 30 starts as a first baseman, outfielder, or designated hitter...NDSU went 9-8 with him as the starting cleanup hitter...Ranked second on the team with 10 doubles and tied for the team lead with 25 RBIs...Went 7-for-12 with six RBIs in three games at Murray State...Went 3-for-4 in the third game of the series and belted a double and home run in the finale...Named to the Summit League Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence...JUNIOR COLLEGE: Spent two years at Central Lakes CC in Brainerd, Minn...Sat out his first year with an injury but came back to lead the team with a .388 batting average in 2008...Team was 11-25 under coach Joel Lofstrom, a former Bison baseball player and student assistant...HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated in 2006 from Brainerd High School...Two-year starting pitcher, first baseman and outfielder for coach Lowell Scearcy...Team MVP, all-conference and all-section his senior year hitting .380 with five home runs...Also an all-conference football player...Two-year starter at wide receiver and outside linebacker...PERSONAL: Son of Randy and Lorna Heidmann of Baxter, Minn...Father signed a free-agent contract with the Minnesota Twins in 1973 and played for Geneva in the New York-Penn League after a career at Minnesota State Mankato, where he was two-time All-North Central Conference and part of the 1971 NCC championship team that won the NCAA Midwest Regional and placed fourth at the NCAA national tournament...Has a younger brother, Taylor...Majoring in sport and recreation leadership.
