AMES, Iowa - North Dakota State's
Josh Samyn moved into the school's all-time top 10 in the indoor 1-mile run Saturday, Feb. 12, to highlight Bison men's track and field action at the Iowa State Classic.
Samyn, a junior from Winnipeg, trimmed more than six seconds off his previous personal best to move into sixth place in NDSU history with a time of 4 minutes, 6.82 seconds. It beat the second-best time in The Summit League this year and was good for ninth place.
North Dakota State took four of the top eight spots in the men's 400-meter dash led by
Cody Roder's third-place time of 47.73 seconds.
Josh Knutson was fifth with a 48.21,
Adrian Harris placed seventh with a 48.40 and
Jacob Levin was eighth with a 48.63.

Jacob Rodin improved his school-record time in the 800-meter dash with a 1:48.52, which placed third and beat the best time The Summit League this season. Redshirt freshman
Dante White ran a time of 6.90 seconds for fifth place in the 60-meter dash.
NDSU's 4x400-meter relay team of Levin,
Adrian Harris,
Josh Knutson and Roder clocked in at 3:13.25 to place third behind TCU and Kansas State.
The Bison took four of the top 12 spots in the men's shot put led by
Kristoffer Thomsen's third-place mark of 62 feet, 1.75 inches (18.94m) and
Trevor Otterdahl in fourth with a 60-09.50 (18.53m).
Clayton Hannula was eighth with a 56-10 (17.32m) and
Levi Rockey was 12th at 55-11 (17.04m).
In other action, North Dakota State claimed three third-place finishes at the SDSU Indoor Classic in Brookings, S.D.
Eric VanErp tied for third place in the long jump with a mark of 21 feet, 8.75 inches (6.62m) and also placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.37 seconds.
NDSU's
Logan Mathieu was third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.18 seconds, and unattached freshman competitor
Kaden Pastian finished third in the weight throw with a mark of 60 feet, 1.25 inches (18.32m).
North Dakota State is scheduled to compete in the UND Tune-Up on Saturday, Feb. 19, in Grand Forks, N.D. It will be the final meet before the Summit League Championships at UND on Feb. 25-26.
