Competing for playing time in the Bison outfield after seeing limited action in his first year out of junior college...2004 SEASON (JUNIOR): Made six starts in 13 games for the Bison...Collected his only three hits in a 3-for-4 game against Minnesota-Crookston...Drove in three and scored two runs in that game...2003 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Played at Central Lakes Community College in Brainerd, Minn., where he played right field and pitched...Hit .417 with five home runs, eight doubles, two triples, and 30 RBIs...Had a .792 slugging percentage with a .517 on base percentage...Also pitched to a 4-0 record with a 2.53 ERA...Named third-team All-America and was first-team all-state and all-region...2002 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Hit .481 with 10 home runs, eight doubles and 38 RBIs at Central Lakes CC...All-state and all-region...Had a .975 slugging percentage and a .561 on base percentage...HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Staples-Motley High School where he was a two-year starter and a three-year letterman for coach Doug Shequen...First team all-conference as a senior when he hit .587 with seven home runs and 46 RBIs...Hit .400 with five home runs as a junior...Also competed in football where he led his team in tackles both his junior and senior seasons...All-conference as a junior and senior and was team captain his senior season...PERSONAL: Majoring in business administration...Worked in landscaping, lawn care and construction over the summer...Enjoys hunting, fishing, weight lifting and running in his spare time...One of nine children, seven older and one younger...Son of Louis and Mary Ann Reis of Motley, Minn.
