Overpowering relief ace who is already tied for the school’s career lead in saves (15) after two seasons thanks to a school-record 12 saves last year...Named the top pitcher and top draft prospect in Division I independent baseball in the season preview by Baseball America magazine...Possesses an explosive fastball in the mid- to high-90s and a sharp breaking pitch...2004 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Logged a 6-0 record with a school-record 12 saves and a 1.40 ERA that was the seventh-best in school history...Ranked third in the final Division II statistics in saves...Had a 0.50 ERA before Minnesota State-Mankato rallied for four runs late in the North Central Conference championship...Pitched 19 scoreless innings over a stretch of 17 appearances, charting a 3-0 record with seven saves and 27 strikeouts in that span while allowing only 10 hits and six walks...Limited opposing batters to a .179 batting average...2003 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Saw action as a closer and starter in his rookie season, compiling a 4-2 record with a 4.94 ERA...Earned a couple of early season starts against Wayne (Neb.)
