HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner in cross country and track & field at Bismarck High School...Named the Western Dakota Association’s Senior Athlete of the Year...Four-time all-conference selection in cross country...two-time all-state pick...Helped lead Bismarck to three conference titles...Four-time all-conference and all-state honoree in track...Helped Bismarck win four straight state titles...Also excelled in two years on the wrestling team...Earned all-conference honors both years.

PERSONAL: Son of Terry and Shelly Martel...Has one older sister, Ciara...Planning to major in finance/economics...Valedictorian of graduating class at Bismarck High.
