2006-07 (Junior): Proved to be one of the leaders of the Bison, posting a 19-9 overall record and 8-6 in duals including 2 pins at 133... Captured the Bison Open championship with a 9-8 victory over Derek Bomstad of Minnesota State Moorhead... Went 3-0 and outscored his opponents 22-1 to capture the Dragon Open title... Placed third at the NCAA West Regionals with a 6-1 victory over Blayze Bahe of Northern Colorado.
2005-06 (Sophomore): Had a 13-12 overall record, 6-6 in duals...Tied for the team lead in major decisions (5)...Took runner-up at both the Daktronics and Bison Opens...Was undefeated in five home duals...Defeated NCAA qualifier Brandon Strong of Air Force 7-6...Wrestled NCAA National Champion Matt Valenti of Penn at the Virginia Duals, losing 15-3.
2004-05 (Redshirt): Went 9-8 in unattached competition, competing in four tournaments...Finished fourth at the North Country Wrestling Tournament going 4-2.
2003-04 (Freshman): Made every start for the Bison from Day 1 of his true freshman season...Advanced to the NCAA Division II nationals with a fourth-place finish at the North Regional...Put together a season-high four straight wins in the wrestlebacks at the Kaufman-Brand Open at Nebraska-Omaha...Finished 19-19 with a 7-7 mark in dual meets.
High School: Graduated from Wabasha-Kellogg High School in 2003 where he was coached by his father, Ron...Six-time conference champ and five-time section champ where he became only the second five-time state champion in Minnesota history...Lost only nine matches in that five year span...Posted an astounding 223-27 record in six varsity seasons including a 43-1 mark in his final year and a perfect 43-0 ledger his sophomore season...His 223 wins is a school record...Also has season records for near-falls (83) and technical falls (15)...Named 2003 "Mr. Minnesota Wrestler of the Year"...Two-time academic all-state honoree and a member of the National Honor Society.
