2007-08 (JUNIOR): Went 22-11 overall and 12-6 in duals at 141...Tallied three pins on the year...Finished second at the Bison Open and fourth at the Kaufman-Brand Open...Captured the Dragon Open title...Had two streaks of five straight wins...Competed in the NCAA West Regional, where he went 0-2 against Carter Downing of Wyoming and Adam Everson of South Dakota State...Named to the Western Wrestling Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll for academics....Named WWC Wrestler of the Week (12/12/07).
2006-07 (Sophomore): An everyday starter for the Bison at 141, compiling a 17-12 overall record and 8-6 in duals with a pair of pins...Finished second at the Bison Open and third in the Dragon Open...Went 3-1 at the Bison Open and didn’t give up a point until falling to Minnesota’s Manuel Rivera 5-1 in the championship.
2005-06 (Freshman): Finished the season with a 19-14 record overall, 3-9 in dual action...Took first at the Daktronics Open, fourth at the Bison Open and third at the Kaufman-Brand Open...Picked up his first career dual win with a 7-2 decision over Billy Bullwinkel of The Citadel...Won the match-clinching bout at Utah Valley, beating Justin Rawle 4-2...Wrestled NCAA national champion Dustin Schlatter of Minnesota twice, losing both times by major decision...Competed at USA Wrestling’s University Nationals where he finished 4-4.
2004-05 (Redshirt): Wrestled at 149 and went 6-5 in unattached competition in three tournaments...Placed third in the Daktronics Open and fifth at the Bison Open.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Greenbush-Middle River High School in 2004...Head coach was Todd Bergeron...Four-time Minnesota state champion...Compiled a career record of 191-17...Had 133-match winning streak, second longest streak in Minnesota history...Finished 31-1 his senior season with 14 pins...Starred in the national spotlight for several years as one of the top international-style wrestlers in the country...Won three Greco-Roman national championships and one freestyle national championship with a pair of runner-up finishes.
