2007-08 (REDSHIRT): Went 9-6 in three tournaments as an unattached wrestler at 133...Finished fifth at the Bison Open, sixth at the Kaufman-Brand Open and third at the Jimmie Open.

High School: Graduated from Mandan High School in 2007...Earned six varsity letters for the Braves...Three-time state champion at 150...Named 2007 North Dakota Mr. Wrestler in class A...Served as team captain his junior and senior seasons...Holds all-time school record in wins.

Personal: Majoring in biology...Son of Terry and Mary Steinwand... Family consists of two older brothers, Josh and Jeremy, and a younger sister, Kayle.
