2014 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Played in 14 of 16 games...Missed home dates with Incarnate Word and Montana due to a wrist injury...Regular on special teams and backup at safety...Totaled nine tackles on the year including four on kickoff coverage...Named to the MVFC Honor Roll.

2013 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Played in all 15 games on the special teams unit and made a few appearances in the defensive secondary…Recorded tackles in games vs. Ferris State, Indiana State and South Dakota…Named to the MVFC Honor Roll.
 
2012 SEASON (REDSHIRT): Sat out as a redshirt in the Bison program.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: 2012 graduate of Roosevelt High School...First-team all-state safety under head coach Kim Nelson...Led the Rough Riders to an 11-1 record and Class AA state championship in 2011...Roosevelt had a 9-2 record in 2010...Earned all-conference and all-city honors as a senior...Two-time honorable mention on Elite 45 team...Had 2,346 all-purpose yards and 29 TDs over final two seasons...Added six blocked punts, four interceptions and three forced fumbles...Two-year letterwinner in basketball...Earned one letter in baseball and was member of the 2011 state championship team.
 
PERSONAL: Majoring in health and physical education…Son of Roger and Wanita smith...Has one brother, Mitchell...Father wrestled for Huron (S.D.) College in 1978-79.
