NDSU

2014 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Played in the Incarnate Word and Southern Illinois home games...Made four tackles and had a 69-yard interception return touchdown against UIW...It was NDSU's only pick-six of the season.

2013 SEASON (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season as a redshirt in the NDSU program after transferring from Minnesota State Moorhead.
 
2012 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Started at strong safety for Minnesota State Moorhead under head coach Steve Laqua, who played and was an assistant at North Dakota State...Finished season with 121 tackles including 63 solos, seven pass breakups, six tackles for loss, two interceptions, a forced fumble and one fumble recovery...Averaged 11 tackles per game to lead the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference...NSIC Defensive Newcomer of the Year...Honorable mention all-NSIC...Had eight games with double-figure tackles.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: 2012 graduate of Sioux Falls Roosevelt...Two-time all-state first team strong safety for the Rough Riders and head coach Kim Nelson...Finalist for South Dakota's Gatorade Player of the Year...Sioux Falls Argus Leader all-Elite 45 and all-conference as senior, honorable mention as a junior...Played in the South Dakota All-Star game...Roosevelt won the 2011 AA state championship and compiled 28-7 record during career.
 
PERSONAL: Majoring in sociology with a minor in management communication…Son of Dan and Gina DeJong...Has one sister, Krista...Cousin, Erik DeJong, played baseball at South Dakota State…Teammate of NDSU defensive back Andrew Smith since fourth grade.
