Outdoor (Senior): Placed 5th in the javelin and 6th in the decathlon at the Summit League Outdoor Championships in Macomb, Ill. … Season-best throw of 197-5 (60.17m) in the javelin at the conference meet.
 
2013-14 SEASON

Indoor (Junior): Scored 3,900 points in the heptathlon at the Dakota Duals on Dec. 6-7 ... Season-best time of 9.08 seconds in the 60m hurdles.
Outdoor (Junior): Placed third in the javelin and eighth in the decathlon at the Summit League Outdoor Championships ... Season-best javelin throw of 194-5 (59.25m) to take third at the league meet ... Scored 5,094 points in the decathlon at the conference meet ... Season-bests of 20-01.75 (6.14m) in the long jump and 40-09.00 (12.42m) in the shot put.

2012-13 SEASON

Indoor (Sophomore): Did not compete.
Outdoor (Sophomore): Summit League runner-up in the javelin, throwing 198-5 (60.48m) at the Summit League Outdoor Championships ... Season-best javelin throw of 200-10 (61.21m) at the Sun Angel Classic on Apr. 6.

2011-12 SEASON

Indoor (Freshman): Did not compete.
Outdoor (Freshman): Took fourth place in the javelin at the Summit League Outdoor Championships, throwing a season-best 192-00 (58.62m) ... won the javelin at the Sun Angel Track Classic on Apr. 7 with a throw of 188-03 ... topped 180 feet in the javelin at six meets.

HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner out of Lisbon High School...Won the North Dakota javelin title and finished fifth in the 110 meter hurdles at the state meet as a senior....Named Region One Track Athlete of the Year...Claimed the regional title in the 100 meters as a senior and finished second in the javelin as well...Holds the school record of 10.99 in the 100 meters...Also a member of the school record setting 4x100 relay team...First team all-state and first team all-region football player...All-district basketball player.

PERSONAL: Son of William and Rebecca Coykendall...Has one older brother, Matt, and one older sister, Megan Betcher...Majoring in social science education.
