2006-07 Season

Indoor Track & Field (Redshirt): ... Outdoor Track & Field (Junior): Set a personal best in winning the Division I Independent Championship in the shot put (50-10 1/4)... Also placed third in the discus and seventh in the hammer throw at the Independent Championships... Set a personal best in the hammer throw at the Cobber Twilight with a throw of 160-1.

2005-06 Season

Indoor Track & Field (Junior): Started his first season at NDSU with a 50-foot heave in the shot at the Bison Open... Upped his mark to 51-3 1/2 at the Bison Classic, a distance good for No. 9 on the school's all-time indoor list... Also landed in the top 10 on the all-time charts in the weight throw with a 51-6 1/2 launch at the Dakota Duals... Outdoor Track & Field (Sophomore): Scored in three events at the Division I independent championships... Placed second in the hammer, third in the shot and seventh in the discus... Dual event winner at the Bison Invitational with a 50-0 toss in the shot and 152-9 in the hammer.  

Bemidji State: Placed third at the 2004 Northern Sun Conference meet with a toss of 49-6 1/2 to help BSU to a team title... Member of the football team as a freshman and a sophomore.

High School: Four-sport athlete as a freshman before concentrating on football and track & field the next three years at Jamestown (N.D.) High School... Had a prep best of 52-0 in the shot put and 150-0 in the discus throw... Named track & field MVP as a senior... Three-year starter on the offensive and defensive line on the football field... Personal: Son of Rodney and Virginia Gross... Majoring in zoology... Worked with the North Dakota Game and Fish Department assisting with fish population studies over the summer.
