Biography

2007-08 SEASON

Indoor (Junior): Claimed the Summit League high jump title with a leap of 5-8...Also won the high jump at the Bison Open...Had a personal best of 10-0 in the pole vault at the Bison Classic, good for 10th on the all-time performance charts.

Outdoor (Junior): Won the high jump at the Summit League Championships to help the Bison claim the league title...Also finished first in the high jump at the Ron Masanz Invitational...Finished sixth in the long jump at the Summit League Championships.

 

2006-07 SEASON

Indoor (Sophomore): A specialist in the high jump, Odegaard won the event four times during the indoor season at the Bison Open, St. Cloud Invitational, Bison Classic and the Dakota Duals... Had a season best in St. Cloud with a 5-8 1/2 performance... Competed in a pair of pentathlons placing second at the Bison Open and ninth at Nebraska...Scored 3,433 points at Nebraska to place her fourth on NDSU’s indoor all-time list.

Outdoor (Sophomore): Won the heptathlon at the Division I Independent Championships to help NDSU claim the team title... Also placed second in the high jump, third in the long jump, third in the javelin and third in the triple jump to accumulate 36 points for the Herd... Reached a personal best in the high jump of 5-9 to place her in a tie for fourth on NDSU’s all-time list... Competed in two other heptathlons placing fifth both at Miami and UCLA.  

 

2005-06 SEASON

Indoor (Freshman): Came within a quarter of an inch of the school record in the high jump as a true freshman... Cleared 5-10 in her second career collegiate meet for No. 2 on the school’s all-time list... Took victories on four occasions in her specialty... Competed in two pentathlons, scoring a 3,333 at Nebraska and a 3,360 at Idaho State... Her top mark was good for No. 6 all-time at NDSU... Her high jump and pentathlon marks also eclipsed the school’s freshman records.

Outdoor (Freshman): Had four high jump wins in her first outdoor season including victories at Texas-Arlington and Nebraska... Successfully jumped 5-8 3/4 on two occasions... Had a long jump best of 18-6 1/2 at the Bison Classic... Scored 4,425 points in the heptathlon at the Division I independent championships for second place, followed by a 5-7 win in the high jump to assist the Bison to a team title... Sits No. 9 on its heptathlon chart.   

 

HIGH SCHOOL: Five-time state high jump champion from Kindred High School... Also took gold in the triple jump as a junior... High school personal records of 5-10 in the high jump, 37-3 in the triple jump and 17-8 in the long jump... Holds the North Dakota state meet high jump record with a 5-9 1/4... Four-time letterwinner in basketball and twice in volleyball... Named to the all-conference and District 2 teams three straight seasons playing center on the hardwoods... Salutatorian of her graduating class... Senior class president.

 

PERSONAL: Daughter of Robert and Donna Odegaard... Family includes two brothers... Majoring in human performance and fitness... Named to the 2006 USTFCCA NCAA Division I women’s all-academic team.
