2009 Women's Track and Field Roster

Biography

2007-08 SEASON

Indoor (Junior):  Won the 600 at the Minnesota Open with the second-best time in school history...Finished first in the 800 at the three meets...Won the Summit League titles in the 800 and mile...Set a school record of 2:06.34 in the 800 at Notre Dame...Also a member of the Summit League championship distance medley relay.

Outdoor (Junior): Set a school record in the 800 at the Jim Bush Invitational (2:03.76)...Also set a school record in the 1500 at the Mt. SAC Relays...Finished third in the 400 and second in the 800 at the Summit League Championships...Member of the 4x800 school record setting relay team.

Cross Country (Junior): Ran in three races...Finished 10th at the Summit League Championships and 20th at the West Region Club Championships.

 

2006-07 SEASON

Indoor (Sophomore): Recorded first place finishes in the 400m (56.57) at the Dakota Duals and in the 600m at the Bison Open (1:37.65)...Ran a career indoor best of 2:08.45 in the 800m which ranks her fourth all-time at NDSU...Her 400m time of 55.87 ranks fifth indoor all-time.

Outdoor (Sophomore): Was named Division I Independent track athlete of the meet for winning both the 400m (55.80) and the 800m (2:14.55) and helping NDSU to the team title... Also recorded a first place in the 400m (56.92) at the Jim Duncan Invitational... Ran a career best in the 800m of 2:06.51 at the Jim Bush Invitational which ranks her second on NDSU’s all-time list behind only 13-time NCAA Division II All-American Kinsey Coles.

Cross Country (Sophomore): Competed in all seven meets for North Dakota State... Ran a season-best 20:10.25 (5k) at the South Dakota State Classic... Finished with a time of 24:13.38 (6k) at the Tori Neubauer Invitiational.

 

2005-06 SEASON

Indoor (Freshman): Opened the season with a win in the 400 at the Bison Open (59.14)... Eventually dipped to 56.19 in the event while racing at Notre Dame, a time good for No. 8 on NDSU’s all-time performance list in the event... Moved up and down in distance throughout the season, with a season-best 25.77 in the 200 set at the University of Washington and a 2:17.02 in the 800 at the Bison Classic... Anchored the 1,600-meter relay on two occasions, while opening the 4x400 during the team’s fastest time of the season, a 4:01.00 at the Dakota Duals.

Outdoor (Freshman): Cracked the school’s all-time list in two events in her first season as a Bison... Finished the season ranked No. 6 in both the 400 and the 800... Dominated the 400 at the Division I independent championships with a 55.66 win... Also anchored the 1,600 relay to victory and added a fourth-place finish in the 200, helping the Bison to its first team crown... During the summer, set a personal record with a time of 2:11.22 in the 800 at the ultra-competitive Jim Bush Invitational held in Los Angeles.  

 

2004-05 SEASON: Redshirt.

 

SOCCER: Member of the NDSU soccer team in 2004 where she played in 16 matches and started four as a true freshman... Took eight shots with seven on goal from a defender position.

 

HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner in track & field at Burnsville (Minn.) High School... Placed third in the 400-meter dash and sixth in the 200 at the 2003 Minnesota Class AA state meet... Personal bests include a 56.64 in the 400 and a 25.56 in the 200... Was an All-Lake Conference selection and team captain in soccer for Burnsville, where she was a three-year letterwinner and two-year starter... Played club soccer for the Burnsville Fire.

 

PERSONAL: Daughter of Bruce and Brenda Hermanson... Has one brother, Brian... Majoring in business administration with a minor in German.
