VERMILLION, S.D. – It came down to the last few events, but the result was ultimately the same. The North Dakota State men's track & field team won the Summit League outdoor team championship.

It was the 11th consecutive outdoor team title for NDSU, and its 12th in 13 tries since joining the league.

The Bison totaled 238 points to top the team standings. South Dakota State finished second with 221, and South Dakota was third with 204. Bison thrower
Alex Talley was named the Field Championship MVP after winning the hammer throw and shot put.

The Bison were sparked by
Josh Samyn in the day's first individual event on the track. In the 1500m, Samyn used an aggressive burst over the final 200 meters to pull away from – and then hold off – a pack of challengers, winning the title in a personal-best 3:47.66. He entered the meet ranked eighth in the league this season for the 1500m, and he ended the day ranked third in NDSU history.

Alex Bartholomay ran a personal-best 3:48.01 for third place in the 1500m, and
Isaac Huber scored the final team point in eighth, running a personal-best 3:54.16. NDSU's 17 team points in the event set the Bison machine in motion for the remainder of the day.

Hours later, NDSU's

Adrian Harris,
Cody Roder and
Jacob Rodin brought home the 4x400m relay title to seal the team championship, finishing in 3:11.55.

In the 400m dash, Harris finished second in a personal-best 46.80 that ranks No. 3 all-time at NDSU. Lipscomb clocked a personal-best 47.20 for fourth place in the meet and No. 6 on the Bison all-time list. Roder took fifth in 47.93.

Harris also took sixth in the 200m dash final, crossing the line in a personal-best 21.41 to tie for 10th in NDSU history.

Rodin finished second in the 800m, clocking 1:52.03.
Keiser Freetly was fifth for the Bison in 1:53.31.

Trent Davis was the Summit League runner-up in both the 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles on Saturday, running a personal-best 53.02 in the 400m hurdles. NDSU's
Josh Knutson was third in 53.65.

Maxwell Otterdahl (171-0) took second place in the discus, and
Kristoffer Thomsen threw a personal-best 169-2 (51.56m) for fifth. Thomsen now ranks 10th in NDSU history.

Koate Deebom took sixth place in the triple jump, and
Tony Ukkelberg came back after the decathlon to take seventh in the triple.

Zach Johnson came in seventh in the 5,000m, and Bartholomay took eighth, securing three more crucial team points late in the meet.

Elijah Hylen tied for sixth in the high jump.
Jens Christensen placed seventh in the pole vault, clearing 15-7 (4.75m). Junior
Eric VanErp registered a PR of 14.93 in the 110m hurdles for seventh place.
