2006-07 Season
Cross Country (Senior): Finished in ninth place at the Division I Independent Championships in a time of 26:16.1 to help the Bison finish second overall...Finished in the top ten also at Midwest Collegiate Open and the NDSU Open... Indoor Track & Field (Junior): Grabbed first place finishes at the Dakota Duals in the 800m run (1:57.68), the 1,000m (2:28.19) in Nebraska and in the mile (4:20.67) at the Bison Open... Outdoor Track & Field (Junior): Scored points in both the 800m and the 1,500m to help the Bison win the Division I Independent Championships... Ran a career-best in the 1,500m at the Jim Duncan Invitational of 3:56.48.
2005-06 Season
Cross Country (Junior): Started the season with a fourth-place finish at the Dragon Open (9/2), running a 26:39.47... Ran a season-best 25:52.9 at the Jim Drews Invitational (10/15)... NDSU's No. 3 runner at the Division I independent championships in Corpus Christi, Texas, placing 14th while helping the Bison to a third-place team result... Indoor Track & Field (Sophomore): Broke one of the oldest school records in the books with a 2:26.12 in the 1,000 at the University of Nebraska... Shaved a half second off of the old mark of 2:26.62 set by Rob Carney in 1982... Hit PRs in two other events, the first in the 800 with a 1:53.12 at Washington and then a 4:12.63 in the mile at Iowa State... Outdoor Track & Field: Redshirt.
2004-05 Season
Cross Country (Sophomore): Raced in all six events for the Bison, running in NDSU’s top five on all but one occasion... Placed 27th at the Division I independent championships, helping the Herd to a runner-up team finish... Indoor Track & Field: Redshirt... Outdoor Track & Field (Sophomore): Opened the season with a 3:56.91 in the 1,500 at Stanford... Lowered his time to 3:56.36 at the Mt. SAC Relays... Scored with a fourth-place finish in the 1,500 at the DI independent championships in Davis, Calif., running a 3:57.05.   Â

2003-04 Season
Cross Country (Freshman): Opened his career as a Bison with a 17th-place finish at the UND Ron Pynn Invitational... Ran in five other meets during his rookie season, including a 33rd-place finish at the North Central Conference championships... Finished 101st at the NCAA Division II national championships... Indoor Track & Field (Freshman): Finished third in the 1,000 at the NCC indoor championships and was a member of the 3,200-meter relay which took silver... Won the 1,000 at the Husky Open in a time of 2:30.32... Ran a 2:27.69 in the 1,000 at the Adidas Classic in a runner-up performance... Outdoor Track & Field (Freshman): Placed fifth in the outdoor 1,500 (3:58.79) at the NCCs... Ran the 5,000 at the Division II Challenge in 15:35.62 for third place.

High School: Ran for Coach Bill Jansen at Valley City (N.D) High School... Two-time cross country champion in high school... Mr. Cross Country for the state of North Dakota in 2002... Also started for the Hi-Liner basketball team.

Personal:Â Son of Bob and Joni Bergan of Valley City... Family includes one older brother and one younger sister... Majoring in zoology (pre-dentistry) with a minor in chemistry... Helped organize a 24-hour run near Thanksgiving which raised over $1,000 for charity in 2006 and over $1,200 in 2007.
