Indoor (Redshirt): Competed unattached as a redshirt, running 1:25.44 in the 600m and 51.63 in the 400m.
Outdoor (Redshirt): Competed unattached as a redshirt, clocking 50.10 in the 400m dash at the Lyle Hokanson Classic on Apr. 12.

HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner for Sunshine Bible Academy in Miller, S.D., and head coach Jamie McClain ... South Dakota Class B State track and field MVP as a senior ... Individually, won the 400 (:49.37, state record) and 800-meters (1:58.17) at the 2013 Class B state meet with personal best efforts ... Also member of state third place 4x400 and fourth place 4x800 meter relay teams ... As a junior, ran a leg on conference, regional and state championship 4x800 meter (8:17.05, state record) relay team and led SBA to third place finish at 2012 Class B state track and field meet ... Four-year letterwiner in football, earning honorable mention all-conference ... Second team all-conference basketball player, leading the team in scoring in rebounding as a senior.

PERSONAL: Son of Craig and Lori Brockel ... Has two brothers, Tyson and Jaden, and one sister, Shariah ... Brother, Tyson, competes for the Tabor College track and field team ... College major is civil engineering.
