HIGH SCHOOL: Seven-time conference champion while competing at Stephen-Argyle High School... Won three straight league crowns in the triple jump and long jump, while adding a 110-meter hurdle title as a senior... Placed eighth at state in the triple jump on two occasions... Holds career prep marks of 15.00 in the high hurdles, 20-6 in the long jump and 42-0 in the triple jump... Running back and defensive back for the three-time state champion football squad... On the hardwood, played guard and forward for three seasons for the Storms.
PERSONAL: Son of Leif and Cheryl Aakre... Family includes two older brothers and one younger brother... Oldest brother Andrew, a 2005 NDSU graduate, holds the school's decathlon record... Majoring in civil engineering.
